My trunk light on my dash keeps blinking on and off that my trunk is open when it is actually closed, whenver i stop or go it turns off for a sec then it turns back on. I know its probably the trunk pin stuck or something along those lines, does anyone know how to fix it, i know that for door pins its as easy as just spraying some wd40 on the pin to get it moving smoothly again. Anyone else have this problem before? how did you fix it?

 

Actually it probably has nothing to do with the pin itself... there's a tumbler on the inside that moves back and forth when the latch is closed and opened. When it's in the open position, a little metal leaf touches the end of the tumbler, and that completes a circuit which turns your dash light on. When the latch is in the closed position the tumbler pulls away from the leaf spring so that the connection is broken.

In your car, it sounds like the little leaf spring has been bent slightly too far towards the tumbler. If you just undo the three big screws holding the latch mechanism in place, remove the clip holding the latch to the trunk lock, and pull it out, you'll easily see what I mean. You can actually move the little leaf spring while the mechanism is still bolted in if you know what you're looking for.... it's on the righthand side. You can see a wire running to it.

Of course, that's the hard way to fix it. The easy way is just to unplug the connector supplying power to the circuit... et voila! No more hatch light - ever!
