Car wont start
Just recently I got my car back from being stolen. When I first got the car back it was able to start up. The first thing i noticed that was broken was the ignition switch, where I put the key in to start it. This is the first thing i tried to fix. I removed the old switch and disconnected it from the fuse box area. After installing the new ignition switch, I tried to start it and nothing happens. It makes the beeping noise but the starter does not want to crank, there is no engine noise. The headlights come on and the interior lights come on but nothing else, I believe the battery is charged. The climate controls also dont work. Any suggestions.
The switch is brand new from the dealer so i hope it isnt bad cause it cost 100.00, too damn much. Fucken thieves. But anyway yeah, when I got the car back the lock core was missing off the switch but the switch was still there so i was able to start it. I disconnected this and left it for a day or two and when i started to work on the car again i reconnected the old switch to drive it out of my garage and it didnt start, so the switch worked at one time. I dunno maybe somehow the battery was drained to the point where it can turn on lights but not turn the starter. But i at least expect the starter to make some kind of noise. any help????
Check and see if they pulled any wires from under the dash or under the hood something hidden might be ripped thats causing a short.
i don't suggest this but try shorting the starter to see if its turning

I checked all the wires and they are all good. I dont get it because it was running with the old switch for a couple of days so whatever made it not start happened recently. Ive taken out the switch, climate control, and panelling only so i doubt there would be any wires i couldve shorted. Ill probably take the battery to schucks tomorrow to get it charged. Ill keep you all posted.
ahhhh ha, I found the culprit to be the stupid ignition fuse in the engine bay. I guess I must have blown the fuse while disconnecting the old ignition switch. I guess from now on it would probably be smarter to disconnect the batter before working on electricals....... or not.
