Ok I need help understanding how to install the oil return line for my new Rev Hard Kit (ITR)...Here are the parts provided:
Black Flange that bolts to turbo
1 foot of red hose 3/4"
a piece of metal pipe about 1/2" in diameter and 3" long.

How do I set up the oil return line into the oil pan? I dont understand how this piece of small metal pipe is going to go into my oil pan. Is there a fitting I am leaving out, or is welding this piece of metal into my oil pan required? I thought there would be a fitting with threads or something...additionally do I need clamps to secure the oil return line?

Make sure when trying to place the oil return to look for a couple of things.
#1 down pipe clearance- you want to make sure the ruber house will stay clear of down pipe.
#2 cut the return at a slight angle, and face it upwards, this will help prevent kinks in the ruber hose.
#3 weld it inside and out if possible- less chance of leaking
#4make sure your return allows you to get all your oil pan nuts on after it is done- I have learned this twice the hard way, and had to leave a nut off till I felt like fixing it, and seeing the constant drip. I would only do this to my car cause I am lazy.
The best thing to do though is to get a big an fitting and convert it so you can just screw your return to the pan, but I am to tired to remeber the correct size fitting's somebody help me out.

Sorry for the inconvenience. We blieve this is the best possible way of doing it. The screwtype or flange bolt on seems to leak all the time.

 

On the rev hard kits, I put the oil return on the shallow part of the pan so it's a direct shot straight down from the turbo to the pan. I recommend fabricating a 90 deg. bend coming up from the pan and only use the hose to connect the hard pipe. If you try to bend the hose it will usually crimp. Line up the hard lines before it's all welded and set it up so the rubber hose is just a straight piece.
