i think only 94-95 valve covers had the "VTEC" carved into them. check the engine code.. if its d16z6 you are in good shape

 

blocks never say VTEC.

 

Not all of them. When I bought my Si, it didn't. Check the block #.

i think all the SI's came with sunroof, but i could be wrong and the best way to kno is look at the engine code engraved into the block on the end where the tranny bolts up

 

So the # should say D16z6? cause i have this helms book and it said
1.5L, 8valve, SOHC (70) hp D15B8
1.5L, 16valve, SOHC (102) D15B7
1.5L, 16valve, SOHC VTEC-E (92) D15Z1
1.6L, 16valve, SOHC VTEC (125) D16Z6
Also when we took it for a drive it doesnt feel has strong has my friends DX hb with Si cams, exhaust, intake..

it has a CIVIC SI wording, but its not really there, its like someone pealed it off or something, I don't know if its actually a Si ill get it but I wonna make sure its the real deal

and that dood has mods.. i assume the si doesnt?

 

i just checked out the hatch today n the dark but ill try but wat the other guy said, 94-95 says vtec.. this is a 93 so I think im ok. anyone got a cf lip for sale =P

 

Yeah, what most people said. Not all vtec motors have vtec valve covers. Stupid, I know.

lastly, Si's have black trim.

 

Yes he has minor mods, but it sure pulls for a DX motor, but i wouldnt think it be almost has quick has the si, or is it that the si is stock and weighs 200+ lbs..?

 

so we've got somet things down

1. its an Si body at least
2. only 94 and 95 valve covers say "VTEC"
3. you need to look at the block for "D16z6"
4. his motor is broken in FOR HIM, so it feels faster, because of how the motor works for him+he has mods.

it has splash/mud guard or whatever i forgot what it was called, the one that goes behind ur wheel to prevent **** from gettin on ur bumper im forgetting everything lol

 

Thanks, Im convince its an SI now, now I have to check it if has a clean title or whatever, the dude brought it from a auction.. is 3000 a good deal for a 93 si wit 169,xxx miles?

 

id say its reasonable, there is a CX HB up here with like 149xxx and they are asking 3900, depends on where u live. Id say get it

 

I'll prob. get flamed for this.. but would anyone happen to know the 1/4 time with a 60 shot, msd ignition, cold spark plugs, timing + tuning

probably high 14...

92-93 Si's have painted handle, 7200 redline, sunroof, 4 wheel disc, 14inch steel wheels with hubbies, Honda on valve cover, 4 to 2 to 1 exhaust manifold, D16Z6 engine

94-95 has same, except painted mirrors, VTEC valve cover, etc, AM/FM tape player, 4 speakers, etc
