Default Few Gasket and Side Mirror ?'s

ok I got a few questions... After all the help you guys gave on changing my valve cover gasket, I had to ask these!

Whats this? [found in trunk]

ok when I replaced the valve gasket cover, I had these left over

Now I suspect they are valve seals, but I didnt replace the ones in there due to it not being necessary???

one more to go......

Is this a common problem? it happened to the driver's side also, so previous owner spray painted it [:cries:]

Thanks in Advance!

Derek

Not sure about the thing at the top, but the four seals seem to be spark plug cylinder seals, unless you replaced those also. If so, then I have no idea. Now the mirror problem. If you are referring to the peeling of the paint, then it must be somewhat of a common problem. My mirrors on my '96 Accord have a spot around the curve on the mirror, just where it meets the triangular part of the mirror, where the paint peeled off awhile back.

Aw man that mirror crap is messed up. Such a shame to do to a genuine Honda part. Someone needs to take care of that s*it.

About those rings I wish I knew

well, I had 4 new seals but the old ones didnt seem like they needed replacing, so I didnt bother....as far as the mirrors, I suspected it was a common problem....I still am mystified as to what that plastic thing is I found....

Those four seals usually only leak if the top nuts w/ rubber around are crushed/cracked. THe rubber on those cap nuts is what holds the valve cover tightly against the head. THe top pic is a piece that slides over sheet metal to give it a finished look and protect from sharp edges. Look around for sharp edge that looks like it fits.

Here is a recommendation from your sometimes not so friendly moderator.

Name your thread with something other than "I need help" or "n00b questions".

The search function relies on thread titles, so when you search for "gaskets and seals" this thread wont come up.
