OBDII to OBDI 2k1 b18c1... problems, please help.
2001... B18C1 ...nothing too special. My friend just got a OBDI p72 ecu and we've put it in. Now our problem is when we start the car, it putters and then dies. We have no clue what the hell to do. We've searched the boards and found some random **** about pluggin up a vacuum hose on the throttle body... and some other crap about replacing the throttle body. I thought it was just a direct swap with teh OBDII to OBDI harness... Car is sitting itn the garage right now.... please help. Thanks in advance... btw this doesnt matter but its on a 2k1 GSR.... iposted in the tech forum but no one is respoding... figured more people view the civic forum than all others.
I believe there is more to it than just swapping out ECU's. I think the distributor must be changed to an OBD-1. And I keep wanting to say your injectors need to be changed too, but dont quote me on that. Here's a free bump just incase
it is a plug and play upgrade, inj and dist work exactly the same!
but also check and see if all the wires are in your conversion harness
i did a obd2 to obd1 swap on a accord and the skunk 2 harness was missing wires
wires the are needed, had to add them

Alright... sorry about the delay in posting this... since w edidnt know what to do... we jacked up the car and was investigating a werid rattle from after we did the front end conversion and header install. Well we found out that our friend who was working on header/cat area...forgot to hook the o2 sensor up. We did that...thinking that was the rattle lowered teh car down...started teh car...and it started fine and runs fine now.....*shrugs*....the rattle is still there tho..
yeah we didnt investigate tooo much....just because we thought the rattle may have been the o2 sensor itself hitting something.....but we're lazy....it requires us to jack the car up
we need a lift dammit
we need a lift dammit
