a really easy test is...
Pull the crank case breather. If there is white/grey smoke coming out the crank case breather (the one on the valve cover) then you have blown rings. If nothing comes out but clean air - most likely its just running rich. My bumper was really dirty but not because of rings but just running rich.
The other way you can tell is do a compression test. Each cyl should be within 5-10% of easy other. This is the best thing you can do.
Everytime ive blown a ring before, tons and tons of white/grey smoke would come out of the crank case breather.

Re: blown rings? (ricemaster (r))
Is it possible that my car would've been running rich even if it was all up to oem spec (w/ just had an exaust long ago). because before i had adjusted anything at all it still did this...
There is no smoke coming from the breather... i'm assuming that is a good thing...

Why would you assume blown rings from carbon on your bumper? Like the other guys said its just dirt and exhaust. I would worry if you were getting blue smoke/loss of power etc. If your leakdown is what it is then you are fine. She aint broke so don't try to fix her. Unless you want to pull your engine and rebuild it...

Re: blown rings? (ricemaster (r))
Generally, from word of mouth and shops around town, i've been told it's blown rings... But theres absolutely no loss in power (ran a 15.9 with intake and muffler).. but i'd rather be safe than sorry with the turbo on there...
