springs maintain the same height always.
adjustable springs can adjust the height of the vehicle by moving the spring perch up or down on the shock.
coilovers are a spring/shock combo designed to work hand in hand for the ultimate in suspension travel/dampening experience.

just do a KYB or tokiko with an aftermaket lowering spring. If you plan on adjusting and playin with the hieght, get coils...
Sport Springs are the way to go in my opinion. They have a stiff ride but good for going over speed bumps and pot holes. Not much give if you have the ladies jumping on your car though.
