type r lsd ?... desperately need help
found a swap that allegedly has a type r lsd and gears in a gsr housing. how can i tell??? i have a pic from each side of the x-fer case. let me know if you can tell me for sure if it has it or not. i dont have it yet because i want to know if it is for sure lsd. let me know. thank you for your help.

there is no way u could see thru a trannie if u have the intermediate shaft in the way. unless u have to have even more detail pics on the axle seal hole.

The intermediate shaft side doesn't tell you anything. But the other side does. It looks like it has LSD. As for the gears, you will either have split the case and count the teeth or use a speed calculator to find out the speed in each gear.

this is pics from both sides. intermediate shaft tells nothing. i got that. but what about the other pic? its of the diff. let me know. thanks

maybe the original casing was damaged so they swap over another casing. i'm pretty sure tha'ts a cable trannie casing. unless i'm wrong of course.
From what I can see, it looks like it has an LSD. Although to be 100% sure, you should take out that midshaft.
As for it having Type R gears... that's too hard to tell unless you split the case and compare gears etc. to the GSR internals..
