Garrett T-3 Turbo .63 / .60 ...does it mean it's an super 60?
No, the Super 60 has a diffrent compressor wheel (I believe). The old T-Bird T3's from the mid-late 80's ran .63/.60 and .63/.42 A/R T3's, but that was before the Super 60 even existed
Oh yeah, more then enough
I'm running a .63/.42 T3 on my B18b1, and it spools beautifuly with respectable high end - it's not as great as some of the T3/T4e's and such that you might see on this board, but it's still a very fun setup.
But yeah, that Turbo should do you fine, and leave you plenty of room to grow

i personally wouldn't go with the k26 turbo cause it's water and oil cooled and that means you would have to run water lines and you would have to find some that can handle the hot temp.... plus you might have to buy an inline water pump to keep water going through the k26.... you could get a brand new super 60 for a reasonable price... plus it has a really small exhuast side for QUICK spooling and a LARGE compressor wheel [60 trim] to flow A LOT of air... some t3/t4's don't even have that big a trim....

what kind of CFMs @ like mmm 7,500rpm does the t3super60 flow VS the t3/t4e?

like the title says, is it an super 60?
I am using it for an D16Z6
Thanks

The .63 is the a/r of the turbine housing. The .60 is the a/r of the compressor housing. Those numbers sound like a Ford Thunderbird TurboCoupe T3 which as the following specs:
.63 a/r turbine housing
Stage 1 turbine wheel
Oil and water-cooled center section
.60 a/r compressor housing
60 trim compressor wheel
And NO, you do not need an extra water pump for a water cooled turbo. You simply take the water that is going through the throttle body and route it through the turbocharger first...then through the throttle body. I would take a water-cooled turbo over a non-watercooled (all things being equal) any day of the week.

I would also take the T3 over the K26 any day, too. The K26 is a nice turbo and can make good power, but the flange is not at all common and there is very little support for it. The T3 may make less power initially, but it has a virtually unlimited upgrade path.

i got that info about the water pump from a guy who deals with audis and v dubs and he's the one that told me i need the water pump because when you're at idle your coolant isn't flowing like it is when you're driving or even racing... you know when you've just made a pass your motor is HOT so when you come down to idle the water or coolant is still hot and isn't flowing fast anymore....
Every water-cooled setup that I've seen does the water lines exactly as a I described above.

I think he's wrong. The purpose of the electric water pump in the audi's is to circulate coolant after the engines shut off to prevent coking of the bearings.

i run the same thunderbird turbo but the auto tranny version with the .48 A/R turbine. I like it a lot for a SOHC it's perfect with a 2.5" turbo back exhaust i spool 6.5psi without a boost controller by about 3500 rpm. With a boost controller it spooled 8 (what i had it setup at) even quicker. I'm thinking the .63 might be a tad too big though for a SOHC. Anyone run a .63 A/R on a SOHC?
