Default a good car ramp for slightly lowered Integras

I am tired of driving my car in the curb to change oil and have people look at me funny.
I bought a ramp at Kragen's auto parts. However, since my car is slightly lowered, just 0.75" and with the ITR front lip, it will drag if I drive up the ramp. I can't remember the brand of this ramp, I just returned it.

Anyone here know where to get them, lower profile ramps with less angle?

NOTE: I have this certain paranoia with jackstands.

TIA

i bought ramp extensions...you attach them to the original ramps..and it just extends the length of the ramp and provides a lesser angle so that you can drive your lowered car up it...i dont know where to get them in the states tho...

make your own with some 2x6's or use the rgular ramps and put a piece of 2x6 to extend it that is what i do and my integra is lowered 2" and itr lip spoiler

Too bad you aren't close by, I would sell you mine cheap. I think I got them at Kragen a while back. They are yellow and came with ramp extensions (plastic) that allow you to use them with lowered vehicles.

If your car is low. You can also put a 2x4 down, drive up onto it to give your car a little more clearance to get your jack underneath.

This is what I did to my ramp. The ramp was pretty low already, but not low enough. I got the ramp from Walmart . It is a hard plastic one.. works well until I lowered my GSR. then I made an extension myself.

I know Walmart used to sell the extension ramp people are talking about, but I haven't seen them lately.

just get a floor jack and jack stands... ramps suck IMO... their not as easy to use and not as versatile..

in my quest to work on my own vehicle and do maintenance and buy lifting devices here is what I did...

got a 2 ton jack and jack stands.. it worked but after I lowered my car I found it hard to raise the front end/get the jack under the front end... the jack stands were fine...

next I bought a set of U-ramps (sumthin like that) it is a yellow metal ramp w/ some black plastic "extensions" for lowered cars... well it didn't work on my lowered car ... my car is not slammed... I just have Eibach sportlines w/ Koni yellows... so the drop is approx 1.8-2".. its low but not excessively low and even w/ the extensions it wouldn't work.. the lower part of the front lip would hit the ramp (even w/ the extensions)... so the ramps were worthless to me...

maybe because my dads car is torquey but I found it even a bitch to drive up his car on the ramps... if you apply too much gas the ramps slip on the concrete garage floor.. and if you apply too little.. the car rolls back....

another thing that sucks about ramps is that you can only use it for work that your doing under the vehicle w/o the wheels off... you wanna do a spring/shock install... or change your brake pads/rotors, or axles or something... can you do that w/ your ramps? NOPE.... can you do that w/ a jack and jack stands? yes...

you want to raise the rear end to do something w/ the rear suspension, brakes, or rear muffler... can you reverse the car up on the ramps... NOPE.. I'm sure my front end/front lip would scrape.... can you do it w/ jack and jack stands.. yes..

anyway after wasting my money on the 2 ton jack that didn't lift high enough and wasn't low enough to fit under my lowered car.. and also wasting on the jack stands.. I finally bought a 3 ton jack and 3 ton jack stands... its an SUV jack and lifts about 21" or something like that.. and since I have several pairs of jack stands putting the car up on all 4's isn't a problem...

I use the ramps as my "safety" if I'm doing something w/ the wheels on in case the jack stands fail the car won't fall on me... but IMO ramps (at least the U-ramps w/ the extensions) are useless...

just get an SUV jack and jack stands.. and if your paranoid.. get a 2nd set as a safety.. or get some cinder blocks to place under the wheels as your safety... you'll get more use/versatility out of the jack and jack stands than just ramps..

I just drive up onto a brick or a this board, then slip a floor jack under my car.

But that won't help remove the oil filter.

do not use cinder blocks, those are not made to take the weight of a car, at least not in the configuration you would use them (flat side up and down, those blocks are actually used in construction with the holes facing up and down). I use a large floor jack which can lift the car high enough to get jackstands under the jackpoints. However the jack won't fit under the radiator support, so I have 3 pieces of wood in different lengths, which I stack up longest to shortest, making a ramp of sorts about 4.5" tall. I drive the right front tire up on this, which gives me plenty of room to get the jack under the radiator support.

one of my friends actually has a pit in his garage.... but his garage is so messy that you can't get any cars in there to work on them.

i wasn't sayin to use them as a sole supporting device.. you use the hydraulic floor jack to lift the car and jack stands to support the car.. in my 8 or so years or working on my cars I've never had the jack stands fail... but I still slip the ramps under the wheels just as a last resort when I'm doing something where the wheels don't have to be off... as a safety precaution... but yeah jack and jack stands are the way to go...
