Mugen-style Front Lip just got STOLEN. argh!
Well, I'm so glad it wasn't my entire car that got stolen but I thought maybe some of you guys might contact me if you see anyone trying to sell a busted Mugen-style front lip for 99-00 Civics.
Here's what happened at about midnight. As I am driving away from this dessert place on 7th Ave. @ Geary (San Francisco) I hear a scraping sound. I pull over on Geary St. @ 8th Ave. The front lip is snapped on the passenger side and is dangling. It may have been damaged while I was parking the car but I'm not really sure. Anyway, my girlfriend and I walk to Cala Foods which is about three blocks away, to purchase some utility tape in hope that I could temporarily re-attach it to my car and drive home. Upon returning to my car I noticed that some jack-*** had appropriated my front lip simply by ripping the entire thing off my car. I should have had my girl wait in the car. Oh well.
It's not too big a deal as some of you have had wheels and complete motors stolen from your cars. But this is frustrating nonetheless and I wanted to vent. The tabs on the lip that wrap around the back of the bumper (as shown in pic) are broken off the lip. The lip was sprayed with Duplicolor Frost White paint. Because how this lip is damaged I thought it can be spotted easily if the guy were to try to sell it. Yeah, it's not the end of the world but some of you know the feeling. Thanks for reading this.

Crazy... kinda funny, but crazy. Because I hear of people stealing CF lips, hoods, wings, etc, but never something like a very common "cheap" bumper lip like that. Sounds like a random attack of punk kids who saw it and thought it would be fun to take and use on either their 83 Celica fastback or their mom's 94 Ford Taurus. If you need another one, hit me up and I'll hook it up for yah .

Are you SURE it was stolen?
My friend noticed that his lip on his hatch was stolen, but the ends, just like you said, were broke off.
As we began wondering why the thieves broke something that they were trying to steal, we thought of the recent rains.
Turns out, my friend hit a puddle and it broke off his lip.
Just a thought...

That's a pretty good idea actually.
Sorry about the lip. At least you cracked it before it got stolen, so they didn't get a brand new one.

that sucks man
kind of a funny thing (Well, not FUNNY)
I had a real Mugen lip on my old Si that got stolen as well. Really pissed me off. Better that than the car, but still saddening.
