i am looking to do a larger than normal nitrous set up. i have a b18c sleeved with forged rods and pistons. with a final compression ratio of 9.5:1. JUN valve train including type III's, springs and reatiners. a ported and polished head, and a JG intake manifold. i want to start with a two hundred shot. fifty to each cylinder on a direct port kit. has anyone done this with any sucess? or has anyone done bigger?

 

From what I understand the same problems that exist with turbo and big cams, exist with nitrous and big cams. Because of the large amount of valve overlap due to the big cams, the nitrous will go in one valve, and out the other.

I would reccommend loosing the Jun III's, and keeping everything else. And that 200shot is fine, just make sure you get all the safety items such as fuel pressure cut off switch, msd window switch, msd ignition system. You also might want to look into stand-alone's that have nitrous controls such as motec and aem. Make sure you also tune your set-up ON nitrous ON the dyno!

If I were you though, I'd get that motor, switch out the pistons for 13.0:1 CR pistons, port the head, and throw that motor in a hatch. Even with a 200shot 9.5:1 is kinda low. I'd try to run a 200shot on like 11.25:1 compression.

ditch those cams, the high lift cams keep the valves open soo long that it wastes nitrous , instead of burning it all .
im sure theres alot more technical inf i could include, but not enough time right now . trust me thouh those cams are a mistake with nitrous , let alone with that nuch .
