Lightest ITR-worthy wheel?
Hey Guys,
After reading that thread earlier today about lighter wheels and the calculated weight differences for the different gears. (Search for it, it was really interesting.) Anyway, this kind of rekindled the getting light-weight wheels fire under my ***. It seems that the lightest reasonably priced rim is the Konig Helium at 11lbs a piece (15 inch) and $525 a set? (Or Rota Slipstreams for around $450ish at 12lbs.)
The only reason I'm concerned about buying either of these wheels is that time and time again in my life I've learned the lesson you get what you pay for... Are Konig and Rotas pieces of ****? Anyone have a set of Heliums? Are they total pieces of ****? My brand awareness of different rim companies quality control is next to nothing.
Eli - Who can't wait for spring to bust out the light wheels and azenis

Don't know if you already knew about it, but this is a nice list of wheels and their weights you can sort by size. I'm not sure how whoever made this did it or how accurate the list is but it seems pretty good.

I think the RH Cp035's are around 6-7.5lbs. while the Sw's/Rega's are at 8.5lb.
Also the Azenis are very heavy and make the Sw feel similar to picking up a stock itr wheel w/re010.

No matter what weight, I would never go with Azenis... They are not available in the speed-category the ITR requires..
Azenis = max 210 km/h
The faster tracks like A1 in Austria or Spa allow topspeed above 240km/h.
Or is the Azenis available as a Z,W or Y tire (-270 km/h) in US ?
The OZ Super Leggera (Spelling) in a 15x7 or 15x6 are right at about 5kg. Pretty lightweight for the price. Remember, if you are trying to go to light, you may find a wheel that won't hold up to the riggors of the street. That is if you want a street wheel. They are affordable wheels too. Somewhere around $200 a piece I think. Anyways, just my 2 cents.
used milenia ~12.5 lbs = $200-250
user rx7 FC vert wheels ~11.5lbs = $200-250
sometimes hard to find.. but shrug.. also not 15x7 but considering most people are looking for 205 width tires either are fine. Depending on the tire 225's will fit on 6" wheels as well.

They're around $450 a set, check out the best buys forum, 1201aeromotive (Or something similar) is always selling them. I think they weigh more?
15 inch SSR Competitions are just over 9 lbs each. But they're expensive at $309 per wheel for 15 inch. I run mine on the street as well. They're 15x7.5, so they're nice and wide. Eli, don't wait for spring, I run Ecsta V700 year round. I even drove home in light snow two days ago (at about 25-30 mph the whole way)! But seriously, I run them all the time, only swapping to the winter wheel/tires when forcast calls for snow.
Hahaha, that wouldn't work well for me as I am ridiculously late to just about everything I do, the last thing I need is to have to swap tires before I can drive to work
