Default High Pitched Whine coming from the Engine Bay

There is a slight whine coming from the engine, and i'm not sure what it is. Its loud enough to hear from inside of the car, and it sounds like something electrical?? The only sound i can compare it to, is an aftermarket big fuel pump. Do you guys have any idea?? I have no ac belt, or powersteering belt on at this time, could this have caused any problems?

Did you recently install a super charger? J/K heh. Maybe you could take a look under the valve cover and check to see if the timing belt is rubbing anywhere. Is it time for a timing belt change? Just a thought. Good luck though

Its definately not a belt whine, it sounds electrical... I'm not too sure what it could be, but it definately sounds like a have a hi-flo fuel pump.

Do you have an aftermarket head unit??? or any kind of a system???

if you do, and you didnt ground the wire properly then that can sometimes cause a whining sound.

(dont qoute me on that, thats just what i have heard)

No, i didn't see any smoke, and the car had been running for a while. I just pulled in, and a funny thing happened, i THINK i remember rolling the window down to hear it, then when i rolled it up, the sound got louder....?? Beats me.

Like a previous post asked...did you install a new stereo system...or add/tune a amp? If so, that coud be the engine wine your hearing. Does it increase in volume and pitch when you accelerate?
