Default internal wastegate questions

i read a few times from the net that internal wastegate opens sooner than the rated boost pressure and some people are using pressure Relief valve together with their pressure regulator/boost controller to keep the internal wastegate shut until the rated boost pressure is achieved thus increasing torque.

it made sense to me but is that true about internal wastegate or just a myth? coz i know alot of people here in honda-tech who are using internal wastegate but i haven't heard anyone mentioned that kind of problem.

is that always the case with internal wastegate? how would you know if your wastegate is opening sooner than it should? anybody tried using pressure relief valve?

by the way, i also read that boost controller/pressure regulator only helps in increasing or decreasing boost pressure and they are not responsible for keeping the wastegate shut or preventing boost spike/creep as a pressure relief valve.

any insights will be appreciated.
