Default Skunk2 or JUN cams?

I really like the the JUN, but Im going with a Skunk2 intake manifold, and other Skunk2 parts. People say I need to stay consistent. I didnt think it mattered. I really love the JUN. But I love Skunk as well, so what do you think?

I know you cant get JUN flywheels but I think you cant still get JUN US/Japan parts... If not, then that makes my decision a lot easier.

you dont have to stick with all skunk2 parts. cam wise though, i would go with skunk2. from what i heard they used the same specs as JUN. a friend told me stage 2 were the same and JUN 3. don't quote me though because i haven't checked humbers, just going by what i've heard.
plus skunk2 is a couple hundred cheaper

SK2 cams and Jun stage 3 cams don't have same specs but are very close. Check specs at this site: http://www.allmotorhonda.com/techpages/camspecs.htm

Does anyone have any dyno plots comparing the two???
these should solve all the problems
I think i heard import builders had some dyno charts, but haven't found them

Supposedly they make similar numbers. I don't know how SK2 cams are but I have had my Jun cams for almost 2 years and I have many miles on them. About 57,000 miles on them now with no problems. I really like the quality of these cams.

many people run JUN cams w/ skunk2 manifold on b18c1. are u getting your work done at modern? and btw what other skunk2 parts do you have? if you have the likes of a skunk2 shortshifter, its not going to really matter. people use different components all the time. whatever works the best should be used.

Yup Im going through Modern. I was orignially doing the B18C1, but now im going B16. I would like to go with as many Skunk2 parts as possible, but I will use the best brand for the type part I need. IE if JUN cams are better, I will go with JUN cams. The Skunk2 Intake Manifold and short shifters are give ins though.

that is cool. i will probably be getting some tuning done there after my setup is done. you dont really have to get all skunk2 products..their shortshifters and IM are argueably the best on the market, but a lot of their other stuff sucks. and yes, jun 3s are better. youll have to raise compression to get potential out of any aggressive cam though.

If you look at the results of some dyno plots you will notice that JUN makes power OVER SK2 cams by about 2 hp and 1-3 ftlbs. Now I know that's not a ton of difference, but when mated to a good driver, it will make all the diference in the world.... Modern Garage is super crazy with tuning and setups. Tell the kids there that their Boise rep sez Hi!!

Jun Type 3

INTAKE lift - 12.0 mm, duration - 265.3 @ 1mm
EXHAUST lift - 11.5 mm, duration - 265.3 @ 1mm

vs.

Stage II
INTAKE lift- 12.07 mm, duration 265 @ 1mm
EXHAUST lift - 11.6 mm, duration 256 @ 1mm

the numbers are too close to really get a true answer to which one is better. both cams are good quality. both put out similar numbers. i'd go with Skunk2 since they are cheaper. i plan to drop some stage 2's in my R when i get it. hopefully real soon
