94-97 integra ppl, help (front bumper related)
i'm wanting to change my 98 front end to the older 94-97 one... i have heard of ppl using the CL all-orange turn signals, only they had to be flipped upside down... can anyone confirm? thanks...
I've actually heard that the 94-97 headlights are superior, with their optics having been compromised to give them the slant of the 98+. Integra projector headlights are some of the best designed around.
even tho they are different headlights, why not just buy some better ones HID's or sumthin, im not sure what his reason is for wanting the converion though. .
I've had both. My opinion is all Integra headlights sucked since 94. Fog lights are almost needed... they are needed if you run the hyper whites and still wanna see. no sense in switching to the 94-97 over that, imo. it's just one of the downsides of the integra... like the window guide rails......

well I never really complained about the lights from my 95 since I do most of my driving in the city anyways. What i can say is an HID kit will take advantage of the projector lights on the Teg quite nicely. Its true the 94-97 lamps are more horizontal and the 98+ are angled. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not. I wanted to buy HID's for my 95 maxima (non projector headlamps) but i saw it on another car and the light went everywhere rather than focused on front. very sloppy and very obstructive to everyone else on the road. Kind of resembles someone cruising with their highbeams on... how annoying is that
If you have the money, i suggest trying a 4500-6000k HID kit rather than a bumper (with painting to match your car color), headlamp and signal lamp conversion. The HID's have proven so useful, i gave up the idea of getting driving/fog lamps all together in favor of the clean stock look.
Food for thought... Cheers

if you're looking to get all amber on the 94-97 corners, you can just paint them w/ a transparent amber spray paint.. i forgot what i used exactly, but here's what it looks like (best pic i have right now):

edit => i'll take a close-up pic later, if you'd like..

Well for one thing, the CL bumper lights do not have any exterior screws. I don't know how they are attached to the CL bumper, and I don't know how you would secure them to the Integra bumper, either.
As for the headlights, MTKcommander and myself have both read up and have experience w/ projector headlights, and while better than more reflector headlights, the Integra projectors are not the best projectors out there. MTK tells me that Mercury Cougar projectors are actually quite a bit better than Integras. Also OEM HID projectors are MUCH better than HID headlights inside Integra projectors. Yes my HID headlights work great, but the light from my friend's S2000 headlights is so much better compared to my car (much more even light, much sharper cutoff, etc.). As for differences in light from 94-97 vs. 98-01 Integra projectors, I dunno about that.
