exhaust questions
recently i have developed a lovely exhaust leak in my stock(ish) exhaust. i figure this is the time to upgrade to something that may help the squirells breathe better. anyone ahve any ideas on what size piping to run on an all stock 1.5 dmfi engine? it may get a header and an intake, but thats about it.
oh, and speeking of headers, i was reading something somehwere that said that the sohc headers dont bolt up directly and some work needs to be done on the exit of the header end. IE- new piping from the header to the cat. this sounded odd to me, so ah anyone else experienced this?

If you are going to do a Header and Exhaust I would definitly go with 2 1/4" piping.
As far as needing modification to make a header bolt up correctly to the Catalytic converter, Not anything that I know of. My header pipe is angled up a little bit more towards the bottom of the car then the stock manifold, But the stock OEM exhaust gasket that I bought does not leak at all. Always replace the exhaust gaskets with new and don't attept to use the old ones no matter what they look like. Hope this helps!
