Tekken, please help...i need your knowledge
i was once a huge honda fan but have now gone to bmw. i have a 95 m3 and i have a problem with my stereo. the volume fluctuates depending on speed or i think noise. its driving me crazy. do you know of way to get rid of it. the deck im using is aftermarket not stock. ive tried help from bimmer forums but no one is close enough to touch your knowledge.
Ha ha you have speed sensitive volume. I can't help you, but its possible that the dealer can. I do know that there are many cars that use small mic's somwhere on the dash.
My deck has that too, its called "Automatic Sound Levelizer" (ASL)...it is a feature in the deck itself, and can also be turned off...
you need to find out how to turn the feature off within the deck your using, contact the deck manufacturer or maybe someone know with that particular deck how to do it.

did you bypass the factory amp in the trunck or are you running through it? if you are running through it that might be your problem.
well im not running the stock deck anymore. when i bought the car it came with an old school alpine. my friends say that it was top of the line acouple of years ago. i dont know what the model number is, and since i dont know how to take the deck out of a bmw i cant really tell you until i find out. also i am not sure if it is still running through the stock amp. if i run my system without using the stock amp would that solve my problem.

you think it has to do with the cars charging system? what about with what everyone has replied about having the system having an automatic volume adjuster being speed sensitive?
Or it is the actual alternator telling you he is about to die... If the alternators (4) diode packs are about to expire it will emit AC harmonics into the vehicle (Half wave rectifier) ... Have the shop do a AVR test on the charging system to find out...
Time to do some reading to figure out what that means since the only part I understand is the diode is bad. When I initially read your post I thought of bad ground or rca cables. When everyone else replied concerning speed sensitive volume(I did not know aftermarket heads had this) I figured I am probably wrong. Maybe you can make a recording for us if you have a laptop with a mic.
Am I the only one that thinks the way this guy talk is ( )o( ) <~~~ *** kisser. Sorry, but i just had to say it.
do you think that sniping this wire will work for me? cause i know that my car runs on a stock amp and people are telling me that it may be the amp and that i need to run my system away from it. whatcha think?
