motor swap almost complete, any last minute things to check????????
finally this pain is about over, however is there anything to check or be sure to do before the first initial startup???
OH yeah, also.......i cant figure out how to get the distributor in correctly. I know that the groove must be lined up....duh. But it would appear that it could be done corectly or 180degrees backwards. I have the cams lined up with the both holes used to secure them during a timing belt change. Im not sure the exact term for these holes i just call them allignment holes. What spark plug wire should be in contact with the rotor with the cams in this position???
Need some assistance ASAP.
TIA

oil, tranny fluid, all coolant hoses hooked up and TIGHT, radiator full of coolant.
About the distributor, sometimes they can be a pain, make and sure you have everything lined up you might have to kinda wiggle and push at the same time to get it lined up with the camshaft.

Don't worry about the distributor, the slit in the cam is offset, so you can't put it in backwards. Also, besides what neof69 already helped you with, you should pull the sparkplug wires out and crank the motor to get the oil circulated (before you start it). Good Luck!
moving along, got it running...YEAH!!!! Now just need to pop a CV joint back together that i messed up and get some belts on. OH yeah, lost the PS bracket bolts. The ones that allow the pump to slide up and down in the tracks of the brcket mounted to the engine. Either that or have them confused with others.
Does anyone know the thread pitch and or length of a replacement bolt needed???
Moving right along.
