Default 450cc DSMs on a 5G Lude?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows how hard it would be to install a set of 450cc DSM injectors? I wanted to know if I needed to modify the injectors or fuel rail in order to get them to fit.

thanks

I cant remember if you can fit them on the fuel rail, but I do know that you'll have to run a resistor box, and different ECU as DSM injectors, if i recall, are peak and hold, not saturated like the obd2 h22 injectors. You may want to consider using obd 1 h22 injectors as they flow more than the obd2's and fit the fuel rail, guranteed.

Thanks but I already know about needing resistors with any peak and hold injectors on my 01 Lude. The injectors will be used with an AEM EMS which IIRC have saturated drivers, so I am aleady planning on wiring in some resistors so I dont fry the EMS.

If you notice my sig, you'll see that I intend to turbo soon, so I will need bigger injectors. I dont really want to go with injectors like RC or MSD because a set of 4 is too expensive.

I got some of those and from all the research I have done they should be good.. some people just use a dremal bid to shave off on the oring I think just enough to get the injector nice and tight... the fuel rail should be no problem.... and ofcousr you already know about the resistor thing... are you using the 10ohm resistors of you gettting an old resistor box...? hope the helps...

thanks for the info, as far as the resistors go, I was thinking about contacting Sonny to get the resistors whenever I am ready.

I might start looking in a few junkyards myself or maybe I can find a DSM owner on http://www.dsmtalk.com that doesn't want their injectors. Right now I'm still missing a few key components, but I hope to have everything soon. I expect to start installing stuff a month and a half from now, maybe longer if I have to buy stuff new.

One other question I had for you guys:

will the Prelude clips work with the 450's or will I need a different set of clips?

thanks

Your stock clips will not work. You will have to cut them off and solder on the correct clips.

For DSM 450s I do not know, but I'm sure someone around here does. I think you can get the right clips from RC.

you can use clips from obd1 cars. i got clips from obd1 mazda, mitsu, and honda to work. i think i still have a few sets laying around. i was selling them a while ago for dirt cheap. IM me if you want a set. i also have resistor boxes too. i sold them for a lot cheaper than some other person on F-I board
