Transmission Bolts/Engine Stand mounting
Hello all,
I've been searching for the transmission bolts for an h22a to mount to my engine stand for assembly.
I went down to my local honda place and they werent even able to find a part number or find the part specs in the parts book. I spoke to one of the techs out there and he let me know that its a 1.25" thread pitch by 10mm bolt diameter, a pretty large bolt, however i've been trying to find it at local hardware shops and bolt places and no one really deals with a bolt this size.. mainly in the length i need it.. at least 5.5" in length.... I dont know how many of you all have ever mounted a block to an engine stand before, but this is proving to be a bit more difficult than expected...
btw, the stock bolt isnt long enough to go through the fingers, i guess worse case scenario i can cut the fingers from the stand a little shorter, but i thought i would find out if any of you have any experience with it...

well i just got standard long bolts and stuck them all the way through the bell housing. say the size of the tranny bolt is a 14mm thread. i got like 12 mm threads.. worked fine for me..
you mean 14mm in bolt diameter right? you just ran 12mm bolts through out? How'd you do that? the block has two places on the left side to run bolts through, the right side doesnt have the same... they're threaded and bolts cant be run through... sorry if my questions sound ignorant, but i cant find how you'd be able to do it..
reading your post again, i think you might be talking about bolts to run through the transmission itself, but in essence i'm trying to bolt a block to an engine stand....
thanks

ehh. hmm
yea im talkin thread diameter
ok say u have a bolt the size around (grith hehehehe) of a roll of quarters.
use a bolt wit the girth of a role or nickels or dimes.. get it.. and put a few washers and a nut on the back side.. make sure u put washers on both sides.

yes i understood what you meant by it as in "girth" hah.. but the block has no where for the bolts to fasten to... so i still need the bolt with the 1.25" thread pitch...

I think the ones that go through the rear engine mount should be long enough. If not, go to honda, look for the bolts that go through the lower control arm for the strut fork on the front of the lude, and those should work. Or even the actual bolts that attach the motor mounts to the car.
