I just use the sohc intake, because i had it before i had the motor. But....like you I want the type r intake so i can sound cool.......and also because my sohc intake has a big hold from rubbing on the body (after i seen the hole, i put a rubber hose on the body and no more scrapage, but i just coverd the hold with duct tape)

But I heard if you use the type r, you will need the skunk2 intake manifold, otherwise, just use the gsr intake

I use a TenzoR CAI for a 92-95 Civic Si. It's 3-piece so I can make it short ram or cold air with no problems.

itr cai will not work cause of the 3 in manifold diam. You should get a gsr cai. only diff is the end at the intake manifold, it reduces from a 3 in.

I heard that the Del Sol AEM CAI works fine. You have to squeeze it in a bit, but it works

just call the company up and tell them what kind of car with what kind of motor. i know for sure INJEN makes it for your car. many companies do the same now, you dont have to buy intakes for other cars just cause you have a swap. now all you do is call and tell them what you want.

99-00 Civic Si is a perfect fit, even with the stock intake manifold or a skunk2 one.

stock gsr intake should fit and buy the spoon or k&n drop in filter. i don't like any aftermarket intake system because it don't work for **** and it sound too loud when you step on it.

I have a gsr motor in a 94 civic coupe-I used a generic gsr cai and the only difference between it and an iceman cai that i had before is that the iceman went out the hole by my fenderwell-the gsr cai goes out of the engine bay by the bottom of the radiator and out into the fenderwell

Or use the stock GSR intake and a Comptech air box. Best of all worlds IMHO.

both engine bays are nearly identical...

if you are using that gsr motor with a gsr mani, then get a gsr intake.

if you using the gsr motor with skunk/blox/aebs mani or such then get a type r intake.

hope that helps.

I'm using this setup. Just take off your bumper and it'll fit nicely.

i've got a gsr motor in a eg hatch. BUT using a skunk2 manifold,

using the 3inch ITR intake, older one, i tried a newer one but it pushes against the coolant overflow jug.

i ended up moving my jug because i used a BP iniatives flow stack(which is so big it lifted the intake up about 3 inches) and that made it hit the overflow jug again

Ditto, we had zero clearing issues with our stock intake manifold
