Default CV Boot Question

I just checked my boots, and one of them is ripped. What are my options?
Does thewhole assembly have to be replaced, or is there a way to repair it? Money IS an issue, so is this something that can be fixed by me? And how much would it cost? Would it be more worthwhile to take it to a shop, and waht can I expect to pay for it to be fixed?

The easiest way to fix your problem is replacing the whole axle.. changing the boot w/ one of those "clip replacing boots" is rediculous b/c your axle grease will come through the replacement! BUT just b/c your boot is ripped does not mean your axle is bad yet! it takes some time for the axle to go bad even w/ no grease! when you hear the axle click you know it is bad! and it needs to be changed ASAP! your choice man! one word of advice is axle grease is nasty to clean off so you shoul change is sooner than later
