Default Security Issues: If you know stuff about protecting your car, come in.

I will be starting school soon next week, and I was wanting to have an easier time assuring my car would be there when I leave class. I'm quite paranoid after reading so much crap. So, I was wondering if you nice people could IM, or Email at Phat_Flava@hotmail.com on by telling me how to make certain security features.

If someone can tell me how to make an Ignition Kill, or Feul cut off switch, or to prevent my car from being push started, or what not would be great. You guys can post it here, but I prefer the method that I will be using to not be known(maybe its only 1 way and only 1 way, then fine, post here)

Thank you everyone once again, and Happy New Years. I really appreciate the time that you people will spend on teaching me how to make those saftey devices. Thank you very much.

Get an autolock, park so that your car is easily visable, and pray.

or you could always get a beater.

One thing I recommend to everyone is a simple trick to sheild the door lock and prevent anyone from slim-jim'ing the door. The honda lock design SUCKS. indide the door, behind the lock cylinder there is a lever that moves a rod that locks/unlocks the door. All a theif has to do is pull back the weather strip and push down on that lever and he's in. What I recommend is to bend a piece of sheet metal (around 18 gauge is fine) so that you can glue it to the inside of the door skin so that it sheilds the lock lever. when viewed from the side it looks like a 'Z' shape with one leg glued to the metal skin of the door and the other wrapping over the lever. Use some epoxy paste like JB Weld or PC-7 to glue it in place.

A kill switch is easy but remember, it only works if they cant find it so choose the location carefully. The prefered method is on the fuel pump wire (use a 30 amp relay, not just a simple switch, that circuit caries a lot of current) or install a switch on the PGMFI main relay (gray module bellow and to the left of the fuse box)

This info is specifically about the EG/DC2 chassis but the newer models should be pretty similar.

Hope this helps.

Mike

How would you complete the circuit using this setup?

Somebody confirm this, but I think

Buy a SPST 30a car relay, socket, fuse, and switch.

--[5a Mini Fuse]--[switch]--|
-------------| |
FP wire | |[Relay Pin 85]
|-----[Relay Pin 30] ---[Relay Pin 87]------ {Fuel Pump}
|[Relay Pin 86]
|
{Ground}

Edit: I forgot that spacing wasn't supported. Text version.

Cut the fuel pump wire. Connect the car side to pole 30 on the relay. Splice off this pole and connect the inline fuse. on the other side of the fuse connect the switch, then route the switch to pole 85 on the relay. Connect the other side of the fuel pump wire to pole 87. Connect pole 86 to ground.

whats with killing the fuel pump.....me personally have thought the whole ignition circuit interupt would work ( your car would crank...like it had no spark)

thats just me personally...i wonder would any damage occur if spark was present but no fuel?

How would you complete the circuit using this setup?
Easy, tap a +12V feed from the fuse box, to the hidden switch, to the relay, and then to ground. Just screw it into the closest sheet metal with a spade lug terminal. the relay you can just put under the rear seat although for stealth purposes it would be better to have it under the fuel tank access cover. If you conceal the relay trigger wire in the stock harness no one will know it's there.

My kill circuit preference though is on the main relay. If you take the time to conceal the wiring inside the stock harness it's completely invisible and very hard to bypass.

i like a combo approach myself, so theres more than one thing you gotta do to start the car.

Ive got a kill switch on the fuel pump, but i also got a "secret button" that is very well hidden that is a momentary on switch that needs to be pushed in order for the car to start.

Theif would have to find my fuel cut off AND know where my momentary on starter trigger is to drive off with the car...thats a bit of a stretch...

course, its hard to prevent a tow away....but then my hood is drilled with hood locks, so they'd be towing a car with an alarm going of screaming pretty damn loud.

I also have my brain very well insulated, tucked up and hidden, so it'd be hard to find it to disconnect the sirens, but even if they did all that, my back up siren would trigger an continue to be making noise.

Of course, while they are trying to find the brain there sirens in the dash going off in their face driving them nuts....

Gotta stop the Bastards!!!
