How should I set this up
I'm doing a complete rebuild on my F22B2 engine, and at least for now, I'm keeping it N/A. The aftermarket parts are limited, so this is what it has come down to. I want to raise the CR from the anemic 8.8:1 and gain a little more HP. I can either just buy the head package from GUDE and replace the pistons with the forged 8.8:1 slugs, or I can buy the optional 11.0:1 pistons and send the head to Portflow, or someone else. Assuming I'm starting with spec head/block, what's the best way to go. I don't want to end up with a CR too high for pump gas. I know GUDE's rep, but like I said, the F22B2 parts are scarce. If I go with my second option, is Portflow the place to go? Also, the GUDE package comes with a fairly agressive cam; anyone know of a source for a good alternative? I'm pulling the head friday, and I'd like any advise you can give before I start work.
