dsm 440 injector fitment
hey guys, my 94 accord ex is stuck shop getting the drag 4 kit installed... i already got a vafc and dsm 440 injectors to do the vafc hack... however, i'm wondering which rubber o-rings (or whatever you call them) i will need to install them... i'm not talking about the little o-rings near the top of the injector... it's a bigger one that's near the bottom i believe... when the shop tried to use the stock accord ones, it made the injector too fat to install... am i supposed to get turbo eclipse/talon o-rings..? cause im assuming most honda o-rings would be the same size... also, the shop isn't 100% sure that turbo eclipses/talons came with stock 440s... any info would be greatly appreciated...
easily found with a search....but you will need to bore out your stock honda intake manifold grommets so that the injectors fit in them. Using a dremel tool is the easiest way.
I had a high temp O-ring set compliments of "hook-ups"
. I did not have to bore out my IM.
OT: Mike, the injectors are in and runs awesome! Thanks for the awesome service.

He meant modifying the rubber grommet/lower seal, not the manifold itself.
I fit the stock rubber lower seal/grommet over a Dremel tool with sandpaper drum and hold the outside of the seal/grommet against some sandpaper until it's the desired thickness to go over the injector and fit snugly into the intake manifold. If you have the variable speed Dremel it's easy, but the two speed models can be a PITA as the seal/grommet likes to walk off the sandpaper drum.
I dunno what the situation with the Accords are, but the DSM 450cc injectors are shorter than the Honda 240cc's. I threw away the stock fuel rail spacers on both my B18A and my B18B and used three $0.04 a pop 1/4" washers from Homeboy Depot to shim my fuel rail correctly. Just a heads up.

Is this the only way to do it, Dremel the grommets? or can you buy new grommets that will fit on the injectors as well as on the honda intake manifold?
