Has anyone done a dash and center console conversion in there crx? I have a '90 and Im wondering what years and models will convert without alot of modification, (or actually without a lot of expensive modification). And if anyone has pics of theirs or others so i could see what they look like that would be great. Thanks alot.

 

i have one in my hatch.
just get any year CRX dash and console, but make sure you get the corresponding (88-89 square or 90-91 round) cluster hood to your year civic. ie, if you have a 90 civic, you can buy an 88 CRX dash, but you have to find a cluster hood from a 90-91 CRX so it'll fit your cluster. and vice versa.
but other than that, everything bolts and plugs right in.

 

OK, to answer your question, the only somewhat plug and play dash swap would be one from a 88-91 civic.
Integra dashes DO NOT just bolt in, regardless of year; nor does any other year/model honda.
Do a search here and you'll find a bunch of posts about that.

 

i have an 88 hf and i put a 90 dash, center console, just about the entire interior. all the door panels and what not are the same i have a rectangle dash cover and i fit it right around the on to dash and there was not a probelm. i would post pics but dont have a digital. i am not sure about the hb's and what not but i know all crx's are interchangable. hope i could help.

Thats kewl. Im wanting to try and do something different, like one of the integra models, im just not sure what will fit right with some modification. i know theres modifying involved, im just not sure how to go about it. Im just trying to find someone thats done it or knows someone and knows whats involved.

 

you can put anything you want. I have a 00 integra type R dash on my CRX.
You say you want different, but also not too dificult. then forget about dash swapping, specially with an integra. Not going to happen.

 

i got a 88 crx SI dash in my 1990 civic it looks BAD *** i got the 90 cluster in there it doesnt bolt up to that dash tho so it is just sitting in there you cant tell unless u take a turn hard then it slides bout a 8th of a inch back that isnt much...i love the way it looks it fits the car perfect no moded needed...........

one bad thing about it is if ur tall like myself ur right shin rubs against the center console i have an indent from the crx dash in my car sucks

 

I did a search before starting this thread and was unsuccessful in finding any topics with how-tos or pics. Including the one you just posted. If i had of been i wouldnt have wasted my time asking for help. Why not worry more about getting those "monthly" topics such as "are performance crank pulleys bad?" locked instead of ones that require a little more thought and effort. Just my 0.02¢
