every time i have pulled a motor we have used the engine hoist to pull up the car and leave the engine on the ground on a rolling platform or something then just move the engine out and the new one in.

Driver side behind the head is a thread for a bolt, also the upper passenger side mount has a hook right next to it. I think the lower radiator hose is connected to the lift point.

Honda/Acura motors are designed to go in and out from the bottom. It is much easier and quicker when you do it that way. Disconnect everything except the driver's side mount and the transmission mount first. When all is ready, just take off the the bolts/nuts that hold the driver's side mount to the engine and the transmission mount to the transmission. Raise the car and the engine/transmission assembly is ready to roll out. A pallet with wheels is useful here, and I have even used skateboards when doing it at home.

i'm in the process of pulling the motor out in mine also. I have everything disconnected except the three motor mounts. I planned on taking the motor out from the top. Is this possible? I don't know if we can do it the other way since the car is in the garage in a kinda funny spot. I didn't know that it was easier to take out from bottom.

pulling out of the top would be a scary thing with winding the engine and tranny out and being able to get it high enough to actually get it out....its much easier to use the hoist and jack up the front of the car instead...wait i already said all of this.

I pulled and put in my engine from the top. I bolted an engine mount to the thread on the driverside of the engine and used the transmission mount as my other point. You could prob leave the axle shafts attached if you lifted the chassis instead. If you lift the engine you have to take off the two axle shafts. Take out the radiator of course. You should have the hood vertical or off. Just move the engine around while you're lifting to clear everything.

Lifting the chasis up as oppossed to hoisting the engine is definitely better, and less complicated especially when your at home, IMHO.
