Brakes - Why would front right wear out before others?
A few days ago I started to hear an intermittent squeak, so I checked the brake pads. 3 sides are good, but the front rights are worn down. Can someone tell me why? BTW, these are Axxis Ultimates I got from Carbotech. Thanks for any ideas!
um i'm gonna go out on a limb here and let you guys know that 70 % of your stopping is done with the front brakes. remember physics- deceleration is the reduction of motion.
most of your braking power comes fromteh fronts and since there is over half the weight relying on the front brakes to stop ya - i would have to say that this is the reasontheey wore out before the rears. hell i just changed my rotors and while i was doing this i noticed that the rear pads had more life on em than the front pads.

The question was't why the front brakes were wearing quicker than the rears (we all know why that is) but rather why the RIGHT front pad was wearing quicker than the LEFT front pad. The original post mentioned the "other 3" pads for comparison only -- not because he didn't understand basic physics concepts.

60% of the number of turns you make are right handers. So since you're braking to make left turns, and sometimes brake through the turn, the right side pads wear down more quickly.
*That's the best guess I can make*

or maybe someone only replaced one side of your brakes before
I realize that the front brakes will always wear sooner, but I just mentioned the wear on the rears as well to include as much detail as possible. I should have just said the right front is wearing quicker than the left front, though.
Prelude_RCR, you never know, maybe I turn left a little too much!
I have always been told from from master techs to check right front brakes for wear...and when I ask them whys that, he said thats what someone told them...and is always true.

The same is happening to my JDM integra right now, the front right has worn 50% more than the left and that damn wear indicator is starting to squeal, and the pads have only been in for around 6-7000 miles. the front left has loads of meat left on it, but the right is well worn down, although i didnt think it was worn enough for the wear indicator to start rubbing. gonna take them out tommorow and break them ******* wear indicators off. When i put my current pads in, i also noticed that the front right was considerably more worn than the left.
I just ordered some new pads for the front from Carbotech and the guy told me the slider pins could either be bent or need to be greased. The pads should be here sometime this week.
