Default Factory Wing

Does anyone know a site where I can find the factory wing for a 99 Accord Coupe? The owner of the car dealership that I bought my said that he can get me one without a light for $320, and one with a light would be $340. The price includes the painting, and installation. This seems like a little too much. Is it, and if so, can you tell me where I can get one for a cheaper price? I've tried Ebay, and they have them for around $100, usually.

Wow, only $115 for one. Too bad they don't have one without a brake light. Ahh, you think you can find a site that has one without the brake light? I'd rather not go through the trouble of getting rid of the brake light in the back window.

Sorry about the terminology. I guess I got so used to seeing all of those Kaminari, Wings West, etc wings for an Accord that I really take that into consideration.

Okay, thanks man. Also, that manhonda.com site is too expensive. It's $374.25 + $7 for shipping for a spoiler with a brake light.

Did you try http://www.factorywings.com?

...maybe I'm missing something here. But, why would you *not* want the light on the spoiler to light up? Having the third brake light shine through the back window and being blocked by the spoiler would seem cheezy to me. But, that's just my opinion.

Kinda like those idiots out there who install lighted spoilers and leave the third brake light behind the rear window activated.

Four brake lights...

Well, I think it would be a pain to go disconnect the brake light in the back window. Is it a pain at all? If not, then I'll get one with a brake light. Factory Wings is awesome. Only $99 for a spoiler w/out a brake light . But no factory spoilers with a brake light . Oh well, I can just use Spoiler Depot to buy a spoiler with a brake light, if I wanted to.

This is what I did when I installed an aftermarket OE-style spoiler on my '91 Legend Coupe a few years ago:

Crawled up in the trunk and removed the bulb (still plugged into the socket) from the third brake light housing. I simply taped it to the top of the trunk and there it stayed for years without problems.

When I unplugged the bulb from the socket and drove the car, the "Check Brake Light" indicator on the dash lit up and stayed on, the first time I hit the brakes. That was corrected by resorting to the previous paragraph.

Hopefully you can get around the headaches you're anticipating by doing the same with your newer model Accord.

Good luck!

That sounds like a real pain. I guess I'll be getting one with a light then. But first, I've got to talk to the owner of the car dealership. If they will install one that I don't buy from them, they can go through all of that annoyance while I sit, and wait in a big, comfy chair, and play Breath of Fire 2 on my GBA, or listen to music for 30 minutes. And if that Check Brake Light does light up, they will have to fix it, free of charge, due to the warranty .

If you get the OEM spoiler from say manchester Honda, it comes with a different brake light sensor that goes in place of the original one. I have a 93 and it also came with a relay for the Power Antenna to lower it whenever you pop the trunk becuase the spoiler overhangs and would bend the antenna. The way they have you wire it, it automatically bypasses the high mount brake light. Even comes with wire ties to make everything look nice, Oh and if it's OEM then it should be painted already, you pick the color when you order it. It wasn't all that hard to put on and it came with the necessary stronger springs, the original springs couldn't hold up the trunk lid... Just my .02, you get what you pay for. OH and I do like the way the LED's of the OEM spoiler look. IMO

there an adaptor for the brake lamp blub(center) if your car doesnt come with a factory wing.
all you need to do for six gen is take off the adapter and stick the connector(from aftermarket/oem) spoiler. all set.
