Default ITRs have long brakes?

In comparison with other cars (specifically Hondas/Acuras), do ITRs have a relatively longer brake pedal motion? I drove a 97 ITR today and the brake pedal seems to go almost to the floor before the brakes start kicking in. You barely touch the brake pedal on my Civic (or any other Honda) and the brakes begin to bite immediately...

Something was wrong with it. Mine bites hard after two or so inches.

get some stainless lines, and bleed em real good - that'll take care of that problem - mine also bite immediately...

I don't have NEAR the brake kit Yoshi has...

As a matter of fact, I'm on stock-spec rotors and stock-spec pads; mine bite after about 1cm of pedal travel.

Time for some new fluid (I use Valvoline Synthetic, but some use much more esoteric ones) and a good bleed.

I agree with the guys here, you need to bleed out the air from the brake lines, I boiled my brake fluid the other time and the brakes kinda felt soft after that, I got a friend to bleed out the air and now the brakes are fine.

i think honda brake do last a while, my Teg's done 26k miles and it's still fine, on my friends prelude he's done 56K and has only changed the pads the other day.

My 1997 grabs almost instantly. Change/bleed the fluid.

The push rod is out of adjustment. You can adjust this to have as little or as much play as you like. I set mine so I only have about 1/4" of travel before the brakes catch.
