Thoughts on brahma 12 vs JL 13w7
I guess these are the current bad boys of the sub world. Which do you think is the best? I am looking for sq and spl. I am leaning towards the brahma since it is 60% the cost of the JL, and I would possibly buy a second later.
Well as far as my opinions I would go with the Brahma all the way but then again I hate JL Audio with a passion. But that is just me. Just depends on what you want. I say Brahma all the way or you could look into IDMAX also just depends on what you really are in the market for.
i would have to hear both i guess...brahma's seem to have a higher rms power
level...

wouldnt the 12w7 and the 12 brahma be a better comparison??
The JL w7s can handle a lot more power than they are rated at. The W7 is made with power handling in mind. The w7 likes a huge box, with an insane amount of power. Unless you are doing SPL comps in a suv or something, they are just not worth it. Get the brahmas, they can handle a smaller box, and will produce good quality sound.

The JL is a very efficient sub...hence the larger box then the brahma. The Brahma on the other side is extrememly inefficient. Any of those W7's will be happy on a 500/1, while the Brahma will need significantly more power.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that while the W7's can handle the power, they really don't need it.

to add to that..the brahma will also handle more power the they are rated at. for top-notch sound quality, i'd choose the W7. for value, i'd choose the brahma. both are great subs. just put them in the right box, and you should be fine no matter which route you take.
