Hondata IM gasket reallly worth it?
I need to take off my IM to get to a few things below, at the time, i thought about replacin the gasket with one from hondata. I have a stock intake still, I will get a icebox as time goes on, but for the 60 bux, will the gasket be worth it?
I have searched, and read all the posts...just wondering for my situation, if I will notice a differeence.. or if its just good to have for the future.

It supposedly really helps to keep the IM temp down, and lower temps equal more HP. Do a search because there are lots of info on this in here.
It definately keeps the intake and manifold much cooler, especially if you have a CAI. I've driven 50 miles in cool weather and popped the hood and the intake was almost as cold as the outside air. Colder air = denser air = more power.
If I had known about this part when I did my blower I would have definitely got it. Now though it's just too much work to bother with.
If you're going to have the manifold off, do it. If not, don't bother.

i have one on my b16a iwth a ITR manifold i does work i drive in traffic for about 27 miles and poped my hood used my temp gun and the diffrence was about 42 deg diffrence from the head and lower part of the manifold.. you dont have to get longer studs for it...
I find it funny that people like the hondata intake gasket for its cooling effects and at the same time bad mouth the idea of wrapping your CAI to prevent heat soak.
I've wondered about this for a while...
I guess I just want to know how much of an effect a cooler intake manifold makes on anything? When I pop my hood after driving, my intake manifold is hot as ****, but my (stock) air intake is cool to the touch. So how much does the intake manifold temperature really matter? It's not like the air sits in the manifold for any length of time.
Anyone have any facts on this?

Dont you have to put new studs in cause the stock ones are too short?
Is this true????
Is this true????
Longer studs are NOT needed at all. Even with their washers which are not neccessary you don't need longer studs.
I think the argument here is that the time it take for the air to pass through the AEM intake is not enough for the air to heat up. But if that's true, then would it be the same for the air in the IM? Or is the IM gasket would help keep the air temp. cool during idle, so it will give better initial throttle response? But once the air is moving, how much of a difference would it make?
