And it's reusable.
I have one.
After the 3rd Autocross run we took temperatures.
There was only enough time between runs to check tire pressures, then hop back in.
So, heat soak wasn't severe.
On the intake manifold right next to the gasket was 121*
On the head right next to the gasket was 147*
I run an Iceman intake with their headlight ram air piece. Which had no heat in it at all.
And still have the coolant lines go through the throttle body and manifold.
On the intake manifold, right next to the throttle body was 110*
Cold air makes power, and I like my set up a lot.

yep...I've heard good things about the hondata gasket keeping the engine a good bit cooler

Re: (SOHC_DK.)
http://www.an-r.com also makes a heatshield gasket. They got for $35-$40 IIRC. They were in the Best Buys forum before it was closed.

It would cost more than hondata gasket. Lets refrain from ghetto rigging our rides anyways

There was a big post in the All Motor forum about this. Consensus was that it sucked.
And about the two OEM gaskets vs. the Hondata...isn't the Hondata gasket material different from OEM? Or not? I have the Hondata sitting in my garage but I haven't seen an OEM one in person.

Re: (blackeg)
I put the gasket on my friend b18c1. i found I wasn't happy with how much the nuts would thread onto the bolts to secure the intake manifold.
When I put the gasket on my motor. I purchased longer bolts for the head, and made the installation much easier, and I liked how much more secure it felt with the longer bolts.
Here's a picture to show the difference between the bolts.

The an-r gasket doesn't even come with plastic washers for the bolts. They found that the amount of heat transfered was negligible.

Re: hondata intake gasket??? (Blue-Civic-Hybrid)
Does anyone have any REAL WORLD experience with it? I have been looking into it as well, as my underhood temps get rediculously hot, and I am having quite a heat soak problem, my intake manifold is getting heat soaked, causing my intake air temps read hotter than the intake air really is, thus compensating by adjusting the amount of fuel injected, which is causing a small loss of power I think.
Can anyone speak from personal experience, or know someone who has done some more tests? I know Hondata has done some tests, anyone else?

Re: hondata intake gasket??? (Hondaddict)
Keep in mind that this won't help with underhood temperatures. This will only prevent heat from being transferred directly from the head to the intake manifold through direct contact. The aluminum IM will still soak up heat from the hot ambient air in the engine compartment.
I think that you need to do a little more digging to determine that you are having a heat soak problem. What does your engine temp gauge say? Is it running hot? I've measured my IM on my y8 after regular driving in the summar and IIRC, it read about 120F. I measured this using a raytek temp gun.

I wonder what adverse affects this gasket would have on the life of your engine? I mean the intake manifold can also be thought of as a heatsink, and air/coolant flowing thru it even furthers it's ability to decrease the overall temp of the engine. Now if you install this gasket more heat will remain in the head and block wouldn't it? Maybe the difference is not very much at all. thoughts/opinions?
