Default In theory..radiator question.

In theory, if i put two pusher fans in front of my fluidyne it will be able to cool better because it will push air through the radiator instead of sucking it through, since fans push better than pull right??

or, being in front of the radiator will block radiator surface area and cause poor cooling, thats why it is better to get a puller to pull air through the fins.

I plan to do the pusher method because i'm running turbo and will save space.

advice is much needed!, thanks r-1303

my friend uses the pusher method on his supra....on the bumper side of the radiator

in my experience, sucking has always been better than pushing.

oh gosh, bring on the *comments*

dude, it would be better if you put the fans behind the radiator. cause if you put teh fans in front, it'll actually be slowing down the air flow to it.

hello,

Yes "pulling" air through the radiator/heatercore will be more effective.
Pulling as in "sucking". this is a proven theory throughout all forms of cooling.

but, one question i want to bring to your attention is...

You will want to put the fans behind the the radiator, sucking air. Because if you put then infront you will be going against the air that is naturally feeding in as the car moves. So using the natural draft feeding into the radiator and sucking air with fans behind the radiator you will achieve the best possible cooling with your current methods your talking about.

Also one downside to this would be that the air your fans are sucking out of the radiator is "warmer" air. (that is the overall point) but that air is being directed to the engine which isn't bad because the air isnt THAT HOT but still to say the least not the best possible solution.

Just out of profession and obsession I thought about creating a small air duct that would direct the "warm" air that comes from the fans sucking down and direct it under the car where it will pass off back out to the enviorment.... but just a obessed idea...

good luck

the air is still cooler than the engine so it will still cool the engine even though
its hot to you.

to answer the question, having the fans in front will decrease efficiency while
moving, but while sitting still and running the fans, you probably wont notice.

there are the answers i'm looking for...i contiplated the situation because when i'm driving like 80mph the air hitting the radiator will be powerful enough to cool, but sitting still i thought the push method would be better, but thanks i'm goning to stick with the pull method..
thanks for ur replies!!

Ok, now my other theory..I want to get a pull fan behind the radiator and for the a/c condensor i will put a push fan..will this be sufficent for cooling? also what type of spal fan to use?? i'm very confused upon this.

You still have room for a/c?
Just curious bc I have yet to see a boosted R up close.

I had the same question about my computer fans. I never got a good scientific answer, but my theory is that fans are thought to not pull well because they can pull air from around the edges of the fan, so if theres too much of a gap between the radiator, they wont pull through it much at all. I think the secret would be to mount them in a pull position and have them sealed to the radiator so the only way they can get air is to pull it through the radiator.
The thing that bothers me about mounting them in front of the radiator is that the wind is going to cause them to turn, which will generate electricity, which who knows how that could mess things up.

barely any room that is why i plan to mount a pull fan behind the radiator and a push fan in front of the a/c condensor...will this be ok?? any more comments?, and during driving will the air mess up the push fan when my a/c is not on??
