grrr....stupid dealership
Ok, I just got off the phone with the dealership...called and asked how much for a new PCV valve. Well, the first thing the guy in services said was "you don't need to replace that!". I told him that it was listed in the manual under the maintenance section. So he tries to look it up on the computer, and then gives me some crap about not being able to find it to give me the price!!
So basically, now I'm kinda confused.....I thought pcv valves needed replaced? He told me he can't even REMEMBER them ever replacing one at the dealership!
The reason I ask, is because my car is still sipping oil, and this was gonna be my first step in trying to fix it. I was under the impression that a faulty pcv valve could cause oil usage.
So who is right?? Dealer or me?

PCV do need to replace when they go bad. Pull your PCV valve off, then shake it. If it rattles then you don't need to replace it. What I do, which is kinda gross, is to take the smaller curved end of the pcv valve and blow into it. Then try sucking through it. There should a restriction either in blowing or sucking in. I forgot. It's basically a one way valve. If you need to replace,it only cost you 3 bucks from pep boys or $12 from the dealer. Goodluck
PCV valves can go bad ... there is a blow test you can do on the pcv valve yourself ... that i think was listed in the HELMS .. but i did get a NEW PCV from the dealer
#8 is the PCV on the 94/95 integra
#7 is the PCV on the 96+ integras
