Default good alarm for under 300$

Okay i'm begginning to get hella paranoid about my car getting broken into or even worse stolen lately. My alarm is okay for now but I want to upgrade to something that will give me more piece of mind.

I realize that if they really really want my car and they're not retarded they'll take it. But I just want to protect it as much as I can.

Basically I'm looking to spend under 300$. I don't really need remote paging and remote start and all that. I just want to know what you guys though about what kind of sensors, sirens, batterys, and stuff like that I would defiantely need.

Also has anyone figured out a way to stop people from just straight towing your car and stealing it that way. It seems like no one really has a defense for something like that on this board.

Throw my name in the list as well. Looking to buy an EG... I intend on sleeping at night without having to worry every 10 minutes that my car won't be there when i wake up.

for sure make sure that you have a spare battery installed with the alarm, which runs about 75 bucks
and while they install it, have them install it behind the glovebox or even behind your guage cluster instead of the unual place underneith the stearing column. I would get a clifford, vipor, or python...........

I was about to say, some of DEI's top alarms would do you just fine, however where you really get criminals IMO is with addons, such as a prox. sensor, extra sirens placed in the car, THOSE DO WONDERS! Had a kid at school try to pull a prank on me and got in the car bc he knew i had my whole door torn apart...so no locks....but the alarm was still armed, and with teh prox. and shock sensors he got a earful. He couldnt hear very well for the next day. Also install the starter kill and a fuel pump kill. The pump kill will confuse them everytime. Other than that you should have a pretty kickass alarm if you follow those steps.

Absolutely..I agree..I just can't find any reputable installers in the area. I have an Accord, drive an s2000, but I'm more worried about my "soon-to-be" 93 Civic hatchback than I am about the other cars.

Good alarm for under 300?? Make friends at Best Buy. I'm getting a friend to let me use his discount on a Clifford Matrix RS3, which retails at almost 500, with the discount it's like 170. That doesn't include installation of course. I'm going to be doing the install myself.

I would reccomend a clifford with a back up battery... I have a friend in jersey who used to install them... this guy is absolutely crazy with cars. He's designing something, if the car feels it's being lifted, titanium grappling hooks dig into the concrete and hugs its self to the floor. Hasn't come out but still in development...

Actually, my friend works at Best Buy also. The thing is, I don't think he can install anything, and I don't know if I can do the install myself. Ideally I'd like it professionally done. I just don't know anyone in my area that can do installs.
