Default Engine Rebuild

Hi, i got a D16Z6 that has started to burn oil in high RPM's, a friend of mine says could be Valve Stem Seals, other says maybe are the Piston Rings, the car has raised the 150k miles, so? you think is time to make a good rebuild of engine or just change the valve Stem Seals?. If you preffer to rebuild the engine let me know what brand of piston rings and which changes can i make to the engine. Thanks

Default Re: Engine Rebuild (Knight2000)

i am getting ready to rebuild my d16z6 in a couple of weeks and were doing it b/c i threw a rod. i've heard that putting zc pistons and ls rods is a good combination. and instead of getting the z6 head rebuilt, go to a junkyard and get the head off of a d16y8 (newer model ex) and put that on there. i also reccomend getting like a skunk 2 cam. if u dont want to get cam gears and spend the time and money for dyno time get a stage one. if u dont care, just go ahead and get like a stage 2 or 3. but it would be really risky to boost it or put juice on it later though. im gonna get the stage one b/c im getting a turbo this summer. u should probably just go ahead and rebuild it b/c ur engine has so many miles on it. or get a swap, but everybody does that. u should just go ahead and stick w/the sohc, be a rebel.
