Overheating problems.....**help**
Im having some overheating issues. The fluid leaks out of the expansion tank and the car has a tendency to overheat. My thought would be a stuck thermostat but it was JUST replaced today.
Any other ideas?

Also, I replaced the thermostat with an aftermarket thermostat. The fluid STOPPED gushing out of the tank, but still over heated. So, I bought an OE honda themostat, and it started to gush back out again.
With both new thermostats, aftermarket and OE, it still over heated.
Note: The aftermarket thermostat appeared to be a little bit longer.

1: drain coolant {put temp adjustment inside on hot}
2: disconnect hoses and thermostat housing
3: flush radiator with water
4: make sure thermostat is facing the correct way since you changed them so many times
5: seal housing and connect hoses
6: fill radiator, start car, let run with cap off {make sure a/c button is not on}
7: top off fluid when thermo opens {car is still running with cap off}
8: wait for fans.........keep your eye on the temp.
9: check for heat inside car
I dont think r's have bleeders, so I just do that.

Is the fan coming on. I had an ole 92 hatch that would boil the reservoir tank all the time. Changed the thermostat, cap and nothing worked. Turned out my cat was stopped up and the car was overheating due to fact that it was having a hard time getting rid of all those exhaust fumes.

Make sure the car is cold, then start it up and let it idle.
Wait 5 minutes for the radiator fan to turn on.
If the radiator fan does not turn on, then first check to see that it is not defective by sending power to the unit. If the fan works but does not come on as the car idles, check the radiator fan fuse.
Since the thermostat was just changed that is most likely not the culprit.
Things that could cause the car to overheat:
Defective radiator cap
Defective radiator fan switch
Defective radiator fan
Air in the coolant system
Blown headgasket
Blown radiator fan fuse
