Default difference between the ITR trannies?

How can I tell the difference between ITR trannies? I want to know if one I'm about to buy has the 4.400 final drive or the higher one...

the number is: S80-3095669

If you can open the casing just count the teeth of both gears and devide the big gear by the small gear.

If you can't open the casing, try to put the tranny in fourth gear (1.107 ratio) and turn the input shaft. Count the number of revolutions needed on the input shaft to get one revolution of the output shaft. If the tranny as a 4.4 final drive you should need 4.4*1.107=4.87 revolution on the input shaft, if it is an ATS 4.929 FD you should need 4.929*1.107=5.45 revolution, if it is a JDM 4.72 FD you should need 4.72*1.107=5.22 rpm...

you might want to build the block first before boosting it hard..

That gearing isn't going to be much help, LSD will though.

there is a post in the TECH forum, you can find your answer there, but I'll cut-n-paste for ya-
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=363199
"Finally, if there is some question about whether or not you're S80 has 4.4 final drive or 4.7 final drive you can check the transmission housing. The code "4jhd" means 4.4 final drive was offered as original equipment, while "ne3" signifies 4.78 final drive. "
