Ok I was driving and out of no where my car just DIED. and i tried to push the gas and it was boggin' out like it needed gas. I popped the clutch but that didn't work either... so now my car STILL doesn't start I changed the started, distributor and new plugs and even more gas STILL does not work. it just keeps turning over. HELP. oh ya and how do I fix my gas needle(doesn't work) and the mile display thing(thats broke too so im stuck on 79,999 miles) how do I fix that. yes I know a lot wrong with the car. but PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

if it keeps cracking over and it won't start it is more than likely the belt

 

the first thing to do, before you change any parts, is to check for spark and to see if you have fuel pressure.

spark test is easy. pull 1 plug, put it in the wire and hold it to a ground. see if it sparks.

for fuel, you can unscrew the regulator some to see if there is fuel there.

 

you also may want to check to see if you're flashing any codes, cause it could be an electrical problem. also, you may want to try wiggleing the wire on your injectors, this happened to me before and after all the trouble I went through it was just a loose injector wire.

to check for codes incase u didnt know: pull up the carpet on your passengers side floor well(in front of the seat) and you'll see the ecu there, turn the key(not all the way, just to run) and there should be a light that will flash once as soon as u turn the key. Keep looking at that light to see if it flashes anymore, if it does count the number of times it flashes and post the number on here.

ok... its not the timing belt.. and my ecu is blinking anything..

 

stick your head under the dash by the hood release and make sure the main relay is clicking and working. ive never had one make the car die while driving but its a common honda prob.you should also hear a (thunk) like noise from the dash..

 

dont know if i was clear enough ... it should make the clicking and dash noise when you turn the key on..you prolly knew that, just wanted to make sure

 

found out it was my fuel pump.

 

does your speedometer work at all?... if not, make sure your speedo cable is hooked up correctly

 

ya speedometer works but it flutters until it gets to 50 then it straightens out (the needle)

 

well I found out that the distributor wasn't changed it was just the DISTRIBUTOR CAP. so thats whats wrong with it. I need a new distributor thanx for the help though. thanx to bigblockcrx for solving the problem
