Tires rubbing on top!!!! Insite to a cure????
So I have a coupe with Comptech springs (1.5 all around) and 205-40-17s. My tires rub aginst the top of the finder well where I assume the sheet metal of the fender\quarter panel, meets the body of the engine bay, and bends down towards the ground..... I hope this is making sense, it happens when I turn hard of course.
Done - I have taken the lining out on one side to see if that would help, but it didn't.
Question - Rolling the fenders will help some, but can i bend that piece up above the tire with out damaging anything???????
Side bar - My alignment is way off and pulls to the right, due to the recient drop, getting it fixed tomorrow...... The front drivers side seems to be the worst rubbin..
I know this is a dumb post, but I need to know what you guys do to fix this. I have seen coupes with 18s slammed to the ground, but they don't rub! What is the trick to fix this annoying problem????????????
PLEASE HELP!

Well it cant be rubbing the top of the fender because your car is only has a 1.5 drop which still leaves a finger or two gap correct? I believe it's just rubbing the inner wall where the mudd flaps are right? Well i say just take it easy on them turns. Dont turn the wheel all the way i guess.
it sounds like its your alignment/toe, you're probably rubbing in the inside. I had to same problem when i had my car slammed, and it only rubbed when i turned all the way
