for a stock 94 gsr head.. will any year ITR cams work? what year should i buy when i get them?..then when i get my valves adjusted -should they be gsr spec or ITR spec clearances? or are they the same valve clearances?
Any year ITR cam will work, they're all the same spec: 11.5mm lift, 240deg duration (intake side).
Adjust to ITR spec.
You're getting the ITR valve springs and retainers for them right?

any year itr will work. but you should try to get the 01 ITR's....because they are the same spec as the CTR cams.
The only difference in ITR and CTR cams is 3 deg duration, and ITRs are all 240deg.
I'd do springs and retainers since you're in there. Plus, you're not getting the full benefit of the cam if you don't raise the redline.
Aside from that, even if you do keep the stock redline, the valves still accelerate at a faster rate than before if you change to a more agressive lobe profile, which can still cause valve float, it's not just an RPM thing.
