Faded moldings
Was just reading about how someone wanted to cover up there faded moldings around the windows. Anyone have any product they've found that will bring it back to black? Did a search and didnt find anything, and armorall or stp wouldnt work. Anyone?
I would recommend trying some of the other cleaners/polishers, especially Meguiers(sp?). I've been very happy with their other products and would highly recommend them.
Check ou the restoration products offered by the Eastwood Company (website). These are either rubber or metal and can be brought part of the way if not all the way back. If you have the money-you can buy new pieces as many are still available (Did that method with the CRX).
on a similar note, the rubber coating on mine is ALL cracked up and showing to the aluminum (?) underneath. Does anyone else have this problem? I was thinking about removing all the rubber reminance and put some of that windshield banner type tape stuff on. Sound good?
I would probably have to say that the best stuff that I used well what was used on my car hands down would be a Stoner product called Trim Shine. My girlfriend washed my car one day and brought the bottle out and did all of my molding with it including the lower sections of my bumpers and I must say that it looked nice!! And the lower sections of my bumper were almost grey in some areas I would stand behind their product but I have yet to use myself I just found it at Farm and Fleet!! Very hard to find you can also buy it online at trimshine.com I loved the way it made my bumpers look I tried all sorts of things to try to bring it black again (including the lower molding that runs along the bottom of the doors and such) and nothing works as good as this stuff it doesnt look like theres something on it either it looks like its suppose to be like that not glossy or anything like some of the things I have tried......OK well now that I have actually read and understood the topic I dont know if this will work on the metal sections that are faded but I know that it works for the plastic I was going to just delete my post but figured some people might find the info helpful...

You probably got the idea that it is metal from me. It is rubber-coated metal, I think, so if the rubber hasn't cracked like mine, the product you suggested would probably work. Mine, however, is another story, unless it has rubber healing powers.
