oh. its all about the dynamic compression man. u can go higher comp if u get wider cams. more overlap leaks more compression out. go with 11.5:1 that would be good for pump gas i bet since the JDM R is using ~11:1 and runs on 92

will my engine be a lil easyer to blow with a 11:1 c/r?

still learning about the c/r

So if i get ctr cams and the ctr pistons would that be a good combo?

yea they have stock bore ctr pistons and .25 over pistons but you would need to bore your block....

from what i understand, the CTR piston in the B16A block only yields a 10.8 to 1 c/r ratio. i am considering balancing the bottom end, mugen headgasket, and a slight mill job on the head for a cheap high compression B16.

B16/CTr slugs. Sounds very familiar to me. My CTRs ate std though. The only mod needed is to mill the small ends of the rods. The pistons will not fit PR3 without this mod. Any machine shop that presses the pistons on the rod will be able to do this. Also look into ARP rod studs for the B18 (9mm) the 1.6 are all 8mm which will not fit the PR3 rod. I been through that freekin headache. The mugen geadgasket will get you an extra .2 compression. I had it and its not worth it IMO. Especiall for the price they ask for it when tou can get oem and modify it for less than half the Mugen HG. CTR slugs are 81mm with an overbore option of .25mm and .5mm. Of course the machine shop will do the boring and honing. The are a excelent all motor upgrade for the B16 & B18. They are very streetable and do very well on pump gass. Check them out.

Thanx for that info and pic phat

But since the dome on the ctr piston is higher wont you need to adjust your valves?

Or can you just drop them in?

Nope, have these pistons in my B16 and have no problems what so ever, I was kinda paranoid about it in the beginning but.. you have nothing to worry about..

Thanks

25:1 maybe that will make up for that lack of torque...

<----2.0lt... 13:1 c/r daily.
