Default How do you remove the guage cluster?

I've started to develop this irritating rattle coming from the cluster itself or right behind it. How exactly do I remove my cluster from my 99GSR. I was told there are like two screws in the frame of the cluster and that's about it. Or does the whole under portion of the dash need to be unbolted to access it?
Any help would be great as it's annoying as hell.

get a small length screw driver to remove the black plastic gauge cluster surround piece (not sure the name sorry), once you pop that out, the cluster is held in place by three screws. Undo those, and unplug it and you're good to go.

you'll need two tools.

1. 5lb sledge

2. crowbar (jdm)

I'm really disappointed in you, Nick. You forgot the blowtorch.

you mean smoke wrench?? I only use that if the cluster is Jdm Sp00n...in which case i start out by trying to r0und off all the bolts in the engine bay with a 7/16 socket....cut the timing belt, and finish off with the "wrench".

Btw, usually I need to cut through the stock seats to get at the cluster, so it can get costly.

5 screws total

(2) on top of the gauge cluster trim, you need a short screw driver
(3) that hold the cluster into the dash, one on each side, one on the top

Its easy to take the 2 off the side if you have a long screw driver.
