Default help....engine swap guru's only

Please dont respond if you dont know what your talkin bout. Alright i have a h23 right now and the bearings went out, it would cost me and arm and a leg to get the block work done so i might as well swap it out for a lesser milage h22 right? I was going to go with a type s motor but i decided im going to sell the car after i swap the engine cuz i need to move out....neways heres where the tech talk comes in...do i need a complete swap? or can i just get a h22 longblock? would it matter if it was jdm? the only difference would be in the wiring harness which i couldnt use anyways cuz its on the wrong side. If i got the long block only would the h22 bolt up to my tranny and everything? Basically what im asking is it a straight swap to take my h23 long block out and use a h22 lock block? Help me please!!!

yes it will work, u will need a jdm ecu and add some wires to it. the jdm h22 will bolt up to your h23 tranny.

you it will probably be easier just o buy a whole swap, that way you get all the parts, if you buy just a longblock you might not end up with something you need

What did they say that they had to do to fix your spun rod bearing?? I have an H23 with the same problem.
Thanks

if you can get a ride to LA i can get you a JDM H22 longblock and other stuff for less than $1500. the only thing it will be missing is tranny and ECU. i'm doing the same swap in my g/f's 92 Si.

if u spin a rod bearing u just have to get a new crank and new rod. or have the crank turned and get oversized bearings...

one difference in the jdm h22 is the fuel rail inlet is on the other side.. not a huge deal though.

Osakajdmmotors.com includes everything but transmission, ECU, axles, and shift linkage. Only thing you will need is a h22a ECU unless you want to use a vafc to control VTEC and compensate for fuel differences. They told me they would replace anything but the TPS sensor and they do include the downpipe. Just don't mess up your current TPS sensor, fuel rail, or harness and you should have no problem. Cheaper base price than hondamotorsonline.com but customs fee will bring it to around 50 dollars more. I've already started pulling my engine and I'm waiting for my new one from Osaka. Im me on AIM at scotthu37 or E-mail me if you have any questions

I paid $1750 for my complete H22 swap from Osaka (engine, tranny, ecu, cut wiring harness, downpipe).
