Jdm h22 vtech swap
Alright guys i have a h23 motor with 169k miles on it. It does not perform like it used to. Ive had it for 3 years and im tired of driving it. What should i do? Rebuild the h23 or swap it with a jdm h22 vtech? If i choose to swap it how reliable are those companys that sell the jdm h22 motors. such as TopEnd MOtorsports.com or Total jdm.com. Are the motors in good working condition. Im goin off to college in the fall and was thinking about selling my car because i dont have time to **** with it anymore but i realy dont want to sell it so i need to know if i do a swap with the h22 would it be worth keeping the car. Would it be like driving a totaly different car? Is there a big difference in power? If not then i was going to sell the car and get a 240sx and do a sr20det 13 swap. MY car as it stands has a vader body kit sittin on 17's; i mean its fine as hell but perferms like **** and its not fun to drive anymore. What should i do? help me out.

for you to say that an h23 performs like ****... you should be shot, especially since you drive a prelude. There is nothing wrong with an h23 as it stands, yes an h22 is better in most cases and is more fun to play with, but don't ever say the h23 performs like ****, maybe you just BROKE it. And I'm going to college in the fall as well, and i think you should keep your car and wait a few years and then swap out or turbo, i'm going to turbo when i get a real job, and then we'll see if the h23 performs like ****

If the engine was properly maintained it would have like 200K+ on it and run fine.
Of course the h22 is going to be more fun, vtec is fantastic. If you are sick of your prelude then go ahead with your 240sx and head over to the nissan forum and drift like a mad man. If you love your prelude swap the motor. how much cash u want to blow ? you need a full swap, engine, tranny, ecu, wiring harness.

Have you done a compression test on it?
169k isn't that many miles for an h23
mine has 215k and i beat the **** out of it.

One more post like this and you're gone buddy.....
Also, stop talkin like a stunna on here, no one likes the "fine as hell" especially when referring to a tired *** body kit...... 3rd-ly me and anthony both have h23's making over 400whp (although his is the only one confirmed, other than XES up in canada) so the h23 is hardly a shitty motor.... sounds like the only reason you know what these motors are called is cuz you just watched 2fast 2furious YO...
So go get your SR20, and i'll gladly come out to alabama and embarass you
Now if you wanna get real.... check what kind of condition your h23 is in, such as a compression/leak down test, if you don't know how to do these things, search this site or go to a mechanic, its not expensive. If the motor is in good shape, you could work with it from there....... if not, an H22 swap would be a great idea

BOOO Alabama.
My goal is a quarter million miles, and then some. If you are tired of your car after three years, get rid of it. It will probably thank you and then shake off the fiberglass when you're gone.
